Anam Cara hosting bereavement information evening
By Mary Dennehy
ANAM Cara is hosting a bereavement information evening for parents who have lost a son or a daughter in the Maldron Hotel, Tallaght, on November 9.
Organised by Anam Cara, a national organisation that provides support services to bereaved parents and families, the event will provide parents with the opportunity to hear an experienced bereavement professional talk about the many challenges families may face after the death of their son or daughter.
The event, which is provided free of charge, is open to all bereaved parents, regardless of the age of their child or the circumstances of their death.
Guest speaker on the night is Peter Hanlon, a bereavement therapist who facilitates the family bereavement camps at Barretstown and has extensive experience working with bereaved parents.
His work also includes the training of volunteers and the supervision of the support team for A Little Lifetime Foundation.
Anam Cara has encouraged all bereaved parents to attend, including those who have attended previous information evenings as each time families will “hear something different that can help them along the difficult and challenging journey of grief”.
The information evening is on Monday, November 9, in the Maldron Hotel, Tallaght, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Anybody interested in attending is asked to RSVP to info@anamcara.ie or call 4045378 / 087 9637790 by Friday, November 6.
