The finale, which was aired on Wednesday, February 24, saw Andrew complete a 5k run in 23 minutes and 24 seconds - the fastest time ever by a leader on the show.

At the beginning of the show, Andrew’s starting weight was 14 stone 2lbs, and by the end it was revealed that he was down to 11 stone 13lbs, a total weight loss of 2 stone 3lbs.

Andrew made history on the show by being the first person that the experts told to ‘stop losing weight’ as he went beyond his targets and lost four pounds one week.

Concerned at the rate Andrew was losing weight and risking burnout, the show’s fitness expert Karl Henry pulled his cardio sessions back to three times a week, as he was previously doing five.

With his parents and husband Jay by his side, Andrew showed off his weight loss and newly found confidence on the catwalk on the finale, and he talked about how proud of himself he was.

“Mix of emotions before I came out, but I just feel absolutely amazing. I can’t describe it, it’s just the best feeling in the world.

“I didn’t think I would get to say that about myself, I am so proud of what I have achieved. I am proud of everything and I have never felt as good as I do right now, I am on top of the world.

“Thank you for all the support, my family and Jay have been amazing, and I feel like a whole new chapter is about to start I am ready for it. I am in awe of the entire experience and I am just absolutely amazed.”

Andrew’s family were beaming with pride as they reflected on his incredible journey over the past seven weeks.

“Whatever he goes to do he does it, he did it with the majorettes and he has done it again for himself, and I can’t be more proud of him”, said Andrew’s dad.

Andrew’s husband Jay was emotional as he told him how proud of him he was: “You are the biggest inspiration in my life and have been for 10 years, I love you more than you know, I just think you’re absolutely incredible, you are the most incredible person in the world.”
