Another award for Michael with beautiful defassa waterbuck photo in Kenya
THIS beautiful defassa waterbuck, who posed for a picture in the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya nearly two years ago, has won Tallaght photographer Michael Finn a prestigious accolade in the world’s most highly respected photographic competition.
Living in Aylesbury, Michael, who was named Ireland’s Best Wildlife Photographer earlier this year at the Bank of Ireland IPPA (Irish Professional Photographer of the Year) Awards 2017, has been Highly Honoured in the Windland Smith Rice International Awards for this stunning photograph of a defassa waterbuck.
This is the second time that Michael has been Highly Honoured in the global competition for his wildlife shots.
Speaking with The Echo this week, Michael said: “I was absolutely thrilled to receive a Highly Honoured award in last year’s Windland Smith Rice Awards, but to win for the second year running was a complete surprise.
“Alongside my Wildlife Photographer of the Year award, these two [international awards] I will treasure forever.”
