AppReady offers online presence solutions for SMEs

THE aviation industry has been decimated due to Covid but it accelerated one man’s involvement in digital-based business.

Drimnagh resident Gavin Maher, is the Chief Executive Officer at AppReady, which is focused on helping small businesses optimise their online presence.

He believes technology and ‘out of the box’ mobile solutions like AppReady, can help small firms compete with billion dollar companies like Amazon.

“There is no doubt that SMEs like the local hairdresser, barber, gym, or butcher are the lifeblood and backbone of our economy,” said Maher.

“In overall terms they account for 99.8 per cent of the total number of business enterprises in the private business economy, employing circa 1.06 million people which accounts for 68.4 per cent of total employment in the private business economy.

“Major sectors like the pubs, hotels and restaurants represented by the RAI, the LVA, the VFI and the IHF are the backbone of a very economically significant Irish tourism sector.”

AppReady will design, build, publish and promote an app for an SME, simplifying the process while also offering a range of supports when the app is up and running.

Engaging businesses to build their revenue streams with data intelligence was not the primary concern for Maher this time last year.

“When Covid 19 hit last March, I went from having a very secure job in the aviation industry, to an uncertain future,” he said.

“This uncertain future has not just affected me, it ravaged many people and entire industries with many having to close their doors literally overnight. The majority of which were SMEs.

“I knew I needed to do something as it was becoming clearer every week that this was not going to go away anytime soon and it was very obvious that online trading was growing at a massive rate.

“I felt Covid was democratising technology and the whole digital transformation for business was going to be hugely accelerated. So, I decided to invest in an app building platform that brings a solution to the market for SMEs.”

With mobile data traffic expected to continue to surge in the years ahead, Maher believes it imperative that SMEs have an effective online presence.

“Our company is here to help these businesses get ready for re-opening with our app solution that can help them with bookings, payment gateways, social media marketing and customer retention that they never had before.

“As a company AppReady is here to help all these businesses improve their online presence. Currently, the Local Enterprise Office it there to help too with grants towards online trading. Plus, as an added incentive, AppReady will offer another 10 per cent off the cost of your app to help you along.”
