August Team of the Month: Round Tower senior ladies football team
IT HAS been a superb season for Round Tower’s senior ladies football team.
The Clondalkin side completed the treble by winning the Junior ‘E’ Championship, league and cup competitions.
Tower’s put together a string of fine performances with impressive victories throughout their campaign.
The squad is made up of a good mix of experienced and young players and they are a side that have plenty to look forward to in the future.
In the championship decider, Tower’s overcame the challenge of Crumlin 2-20 to 1-11 with team captain Emily Burke accounting for a goal and nine points.
After that championship final success, captain Emily said that the club has come a long way from having no team three years ago.
“We want to play at a higher level and so we are working our way up, we are doing our best to pave the way for the younger girls coming through”.
The team followed this up with by beating St Anne’s in the cup decider and also capturing the league crown.
Frankie Roebuck, who was stats man for Dublin’s senior ladies football team this year is involved with the management of the team.
