Ballyfermot burglaries on the increase

There were 254 burglaries recorded from October to December – up from 202 burglaries during the corresponding period in 2013.
Gardaí have put dedicated burglary patrols into the area to deal with the issue, and say it has been “effective.”
The number of burglaries in the Ballyfermot area, dropped to four, in the week prior to the Joint Policing Meeting on January 29.
High-vis garda units and special burglary patrols are working in tandem with other garda operations, which include case management of juvenile and adult offenders, and objections to bail of known offenders in the courts.
