Blessing of Pets takes place in St Kilian’s
A BLESSING of Pets service will take place in St Kilian’s Church in Kingswood this Sunday, October 8, at 4pm.
The service is titled All Creation, Praise the Lord (Psalm 148): A Blessing of Pets, and people are invited to bring their pets along to the joint ecumenical service of the Word.
The service is being held by St Kilian’s in collaboration with Canon William Deverell from the Church of Ireland Parish of St Maelruain’s in Tallaght.
Fr Frank Drescher, parish priest of Kilnamanagh-Castleview, said: “Our aim is to bless and give thanks for our earthly companions while fostering a spirit of Christian unity and co-responsibility for the preservation of God’s creation.
“We warmly invite you to bring your pets, whether feathered, furry, or scaled, to receive a special blessing as we celebrate the greatness and beauty of God’s creation. Everyone is welcome!”
