BMA enjoy success at kickboxing open

The annual BMA Kickboxing Open, hosted by BMA Leixlip, is one of the biggest tournaments of the year attracting clubs from all over Ireland.

This event was held in the Leixlip Amenity Centre on Sunday.

BMA Clondalkin fielded 16 competitors and finished the day with two first places, seven runner-ups and four bronze medals.

First in their fields were awarded to Killian Reid and Louise Shortt. Killian took gold in the novice PF 12-14 year old group and Louise first in the girls advanced 12-14 year olds PF division.

Runner-up spots were awarded to brothers Arthur and Robert Dryja, Jamie Hawkins, Cayden Derwin, Robert Barrett, Donnie Caren and Alex McLoughlin who also finished in third place in her second chosen fighting category.

Third places also went to Anthony Hollywood, Thomas Reilly and Sean Hawkins.

Unlucky not to medal this time round were Mateusz Tyckowsky, Scott Reilly, Fionn Kelly and Emilia Douglas.
