Boom Variety Show put on dazzling performance

Dancers from Tallaght and Clondalkin performed a sold out show in The Helix last month, while their dance school, the Boom Variety Stage School, are finalists in 98fm’s Best of Dublin Awards.
Dancers from the Boom Variety Stage School, which has classes in Jobstown in Tallaght and in Neilstown and Bawnogue in Clondalkin, put on a dazzling performance for the audience.

Tom Duffy, the director of the Boom Variety Stage School, told The Echo: “We held the show for the 5th anniversary of the stage school.
“When the stage school first started, we had a little show in Jobstown Community Centre, and for the past two years we had shows in the Civic Theatre in Tallaght.”
It was decided that performing in a different, and larger venue, would be a fitting way to mark five years since the beginning of the stage school.
The performance was held in the theatre space of The Helix, where it was full to capacity with 500 audience members, who were treated to a performance by the stage school’s cast of 140 children and teenagers on Wednesday, April 17.
“The dancers were delighted [with the turn out],” said Tom, “and the parents and teachers were all overwhelmed and shocked by the level of support for the kids.”
The stage school also found out this week that they’ve been whittled down to the final five in the Best Sports Group category of 98fm’s Best of Dublin Awards.
Tom added: “It’s absolutely amazing, it just seems to be one good thing after the other.”
