Bringing fun times back into St Cuthbert’s Park

HUNDREDS of people went to the St Cuthbert’s Park Family Fun Day in Clondalkin on Saturday, where they were treated to a host of exciting, family-friendly activities.
The event, which is organised by community group The Friends of St Cuthbert’s Park, featured mobile petting farm Wooly Farm and inflatables from Dublin Bounce.

There was a wide variety of entertainment at the family fun day, including magic shows, balloon modelling and live music, while a football league and penalty shoot-out was organised by Clondalkin Celtic.
Lisa Kinsella-Colman from The Friends of St Cuthbert’s told The Echo: “The atmosphere all day was joyful, and it was amazing to see so many kids and adults alike cheering and laughing, and joining in with the band, having a singalong.
“Fun Time Entertainment put on magic shows, balloon modelling and music throughout the day, until The Blaggards came on with traditional music where people then sat on hay bales and enjoyed singing along.
“The only sad part to the day was when children were asking me could we do it all again tomorrow, and I had to disappoint them by saying no, unfortunately not.
“However, I cheered them back up by telling them we are hoping to bring an outdoor cinema to the park later in the year.”
The main sponsors for the fun day were South Dublin County Council and the South Dublin County Partnership. The Dublin Fire Brigade also took part in the fun day, where kids got a chance to sit in one of their fire engines.
Ms Kinsella-Colman added: “We at The Friends of St Cuthbert’s Park couldn’t put these events on without donations and sponsorship.
“We held a pub quiz to try to raise some extra funds and people were so generous in donating spot prizes.
“We’re dedicated to bringing fun back into our park for the whole of Bawnogue and South West Clondalkin to enjoy, but we need more people to get involved.
“The more people helping out the more ideas and more events we can hold.”
