Britain set to make possession of nitrous oxide illegal by year end
POSSESSION of nitrous oxide, also known as ‘laughing gas’, will be illegal by the end of the year in the UK, with users facing up to two years in prison under a zero-tolerance approach.
The ban, promised as part of the UK government’s pledge to get tougher on drug-taking in the streets, is something that should be replicated in Ireland, according to Cllr Francis Timmons (Ind).
