BusConnects plans include new sustainable link road

SUBMISSIONS are now being accepted on the latest phase of the BusConnects scheme, which includes the development of a new sustainable link road in Kilnamanagh and works in Crumlin.

The Kilnamanagh link road, to be located between Birchview Avenue/Treepark Road and Parkview/Greenhills Road, is to provide for bus and active travel.

Proposed outbound bus lanes on the Greenhills Road that previously formed part of the BusConnects project have been omitted in the latest iteration of the scheme.

Areas in Crumlin that will be affected by the project include Bangor Drive and Clonard Road, which are to be made one-way streets, while offline cycle tracks are to be added to Kildare Road.

Other plans include the construction of two new pedestrian/cycle bridges across the M50 and for the pedestrian/cyclist ramps and bridges at the Naas Road junction to be refined.

These changes were made to BusConnects’s Tallaght/Clondalkin to City Centre Core Bus Corridor Scheme following the latest round of public consultation.

Submissions are now being accepted on the revisions that have been made to the scheme.
