Calls to ‘prioritise vulnerable people’ living in migrant centres

GARDA Commissioner Drew Harris was asked by a couple of representatives, including South Dublin County Mayor Alan Edge, if policing measures could “prioritise vulnerable people” living in migrant centres and prevent protests outside the premises.

Protests have taken place at centres housing migrants over the last year, at locations in Citywest Hotel, the former SIAC building in Clondalkin, in Ballyfermot, and in Cookstown Tallaght, by residents opposed to the scale of immigration to the country.
