Captain Cutie Pie: Mother creates fun educational book series

A single mother has, along with her young boys, twins Christopher and Alexander and Joshua, created a book series that includes several important teachings around gratitude and positivity for children.
The Captain Cutie Pie books, whose main carachter is inspiried by the authors youngest son Joshua, were created during initial Covid-19 restrictions in Ireland a few months ago by Andrea Jebb, who is passionate about childcare.

“I have always been passionate about childcare and teaching children in their formative years,” she says, adding how the characters were developed around important messages.
“The Captain Cutie Pie books were created during the first lockdown with the help of the boys.
“It’s a project I had thought about for years and finally found I had the time to focus on them while my business was closed due to covid.
“The boys created their own characters and we developed the stories around important messages I have taught them over the years.
“They include teaching children about gratitude, the law of attraction and power of positivity and also an introduction to yoga and meditation.

“My goal was to create a product that had really good educational content but at an affordable price for all families.
“I also wanted to make it something children would enjoy receiving as a gift and that would encourage further interaction with their parents about the subjects covered.”
Andrea, who is originally from Kilteel in Kildare but went to school in Rathcoole, started her own business when she was just 18-years-old and it has gone from strength-to-strength over the past 11 years.
Located in Baldonnel, Junior Genius Childcare has grown in to what Andrea describes as “one of the largest private facilities in Ireland” with 70 teachers and 22 classrooms.
When Andrea was 21, she found out she could not conceive a child naturally with her twin boys, who are now seven-years-old, and youngest son, who is three, conceived through fertility treatment.
The mission of the Captain Cutie Pie book series is for children to help other children, so they are donating 10 per cent of the proceeds from their book pack to Temple Street Children’s Hospital in the run up to Christmas.
