Car burnt out on soccer pitch is ‘senseless vandalism’
THE burning out of a car on one of Templeogue United Football Club’s pitches in Tymon Park last week was an act of “senseless vandalism”, according to a local councillor.
The car was burnt out on the pitch, damaging the grass on the pitch in the process.

Pamela Kearns, a Labour councillor for Templeogue/Terenure and a Templeogue United FC coach, told The Echo: “It’s such a terrible loss to the club.
“If a club like that is without a pitch for any length of time it messes up their training schedule. It’s senseless vandalism.
“My priority now is to get the pitch repaired as quickly as possible.”
This damage means there will be one less pitch for the remainder of the season, which in turn means less game time for some of the club’s teams.
