Caritas College students scoop national awards

FORMER Caritas College students scooped national awards for their work in the Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) programme.

Kelsey Masterson, Chelsey Haugh, Emily Graham, Hailey Lowery, Chelsea Keogh Meates and Zoe Jackson, LCA students from Caritas College, Ballyfermot, received a Fergal Quinn National LCA award at a national awards ceremony in the Shamrock Lodge hotel in Westmeath.

The girls completed their Leaving Certificate Applied exams in June 2023.

Each of the girls achieved an extraordinary 100 credits (full credits) for their key assignments, task work and final written and practical exams.

Their excellent results reflect their hard work and commitment during their two years of their LCA programme and the work and commitment of their teachers, including LCA coordinator Maureen Casey.

Ms Casey is “extremely proud” of the students and wished the girls “every success in their future careers and further paths in education.”

Caritas College has since merged with St Dominic’s and St John’s College into the newly formed St Setons where the LCA programme continues to be offered.

The late Feargal Quinn was a very active supporter of the programme and his family continue to support yearly awards to students who achieve the highest credits each year.
