44 apartments and six commercial units planned for Newcastle

PLANS for the construction of 44 apartments and six commercial units in three blocks on Main Street and New School Road in Newcastle have been submitted to South Dublin County Council.

Geotechnical Site Investigations’ proposal is for a mixed-use development housed across three blocks.

The first block will accommodate 16 units consisting of eight two-bed ground floor apartments and eight three-bed duplex units on the first and second floors.

The second block will contain a coffee shop and a “local scale shop” on the ground floor, and six one-bed and six two-bed apartments on the first, second and third floors.

The last block is to house four “local scale shops” on the ground floor, and six one-bed apartments, six two-bed apartments and four three-bed duplex apartments in the remaining three floors.

A decision on the application is due from South Dublin County Council by May 28.
