
Charged with impeding investigation into murder
THE HUSBAND of Patricia O'Connor (62) whose body was found in Wicklow last year, his daughter, his granddaughter and his daughter's ex-partner all appeared in Tallaght Court charged with impeding the investigation into Ms O'Connor's murder.
Augustine O'Connor, Louise O'Connor, Keith Johnson and Stephanie O'Connor were all granted bail with conditions.

The remains of Ms O'Connor were found at Military Road, Enniskerry, County Wicklow, on June 10, 2017.
Augustine O'Connor, aged 74, with an address at Mill Close, Clasheen, Stamullen, County Meath, his daughter Louise O'Connor, aged 40, with an address at The Townhouse Hotel, Lower Gardiner Street, Dublin 1, her ex-partner Keith Johnson, aged 41, with an address at Avonbeg Gardens, Tallaght and Louise's daughter, Stephanie, aged 20, with an address at The Townhouse Hotel, Lower Gardiner Street, Dublin 1, all appeared in custody before Judge Patricia McNamara.
Augustine, Louise and Stephanie are all charged with impeding the apprehension of an investigation of a murder at Mountainview Park, Rathfarnham, on May 29, 2017 contrary to Section 7(1) of the Criminal Law Act, 1997.
Keith Johnson is charged with impeding the apprehension of an investigation of a murder at Woodies DIY in Tallaght and various locations on June 9, 2017, contrary to Section 7(1) of the Criminal Law Act, 1997.
Detective-Sergeant Brian Turner from Greystones Garda Station told Judge McNamara that he arrested Augustine O’Connor at 9.07am last Thursday (October 18) in Tallaght Garda Station.
O’Connor was later charged with the offence.
Det-Sgt Turner told Judge McNamara that he arrested Stephanie O’Connor at 9.45am at Talllaght Garda Station. She was later charged with the same offence.
Sergeant Ciaran O’Neill told the court that he arrested Keith Johnson at 10am at Tallaght Garda Station.
He said Johnson was later charged at 10.40am.
Sgt O’Neill said he arrested Louise O’Connor at 9.26am at Tallaght Garda Station. He said she was later charged at 10.45am.
Noting the alleged offence, Judge McNamara asked if she could grant bail in the District Court.
Det-Sgt Turner said there was consent to bail with conditions.
Louise, Stephanie and Johnson’s solicitor, Padraig O’Donovan produced a copy of the Criminal Law Act which indicated that the judge could grant bail.
Det-Sgt Turner said the DPP had directed trial on indictment in respect of the four accused.
Judge McNamara released each defendant on their own bail of €200 and on condition that they surrender their passport, provide a mobile phone number and sign on three times a week at their local Garda station.
She remanded all four to appear before Tallaght Court on November 29 next for service of their book of evidence.
