
Coach Graham loved his football

TRIBUTES have poured in for former Greenhills Boys FC player and coach Graham Connolly.
Following his passing on January 26, Greenhills Boys FC shared a statement online remembering Graham.

“Greenhills Boys are saddened to hear of the passing of one of our former players and coaches. Graham Connolly.
“Graham was involved with both our junior and senior sections over the years. Graham was great to have around the place and his love for football could never be questioned.
“Graham’s family were involved in the club also over the years with his brother Stuart playing for the club. Our condolences are with all the Connolly family at this difficult time. May Graham Rest in Peace.”
Many people have shared tributes online remembering Graham as ‘a true gentleman’ and ‘a wonderful father and son’.
One person paid tribute online saying “An amazing coach with great knowledge of the game, changed the way our schoolboy team played and sent us on the road to league and cup trophies.
“Always great to talk to and have a laugh with. RIP Graham, will treasure the memories.”
Cherry Orchard Football Club, where Grahams son Sean plays for their U16 Premier Side, also issued a statement following Graham’s passing.
“Cherry Orchard Football Club would like to pass our condolences to the Connolly family after the very sudden passing of Graham who’s son Sean plays for our U16 Premier side.
“Graham Connolly was a football man through and through who attended every U16 training session and match.
“Graham was an extremely popular and well-liked figure amongst all of the players & parents and his personality will be sorely missed on the sidelines.
“We will all miss Graham, and our thoughts & prayers are with his wife Karen and his four children at this sad time.
