Community at the heart of fresh new-look Neilstown store

SERVING the community of Neilstown for the past 25 years, Evans Centra has undergone a fresh revamp – which is being celebrated through a fun family day this Saturday.

Over the past quarter-of-a-century, Evans has grown into a key community player, and not only generates local employment but supports local causes and sports clubs.

Keeping community at the heart of what they do, the owners, who are originally from Clondalkin, have carried out a complete refurbishment of the shop – which has been shaped by their customers.

According to store manager Tim O’ Sullivan: “We have went for a fresh food look and are now a new destination for quality coffee locally.

“We’ve added new bread and pastry lines on our bread counter and have extended our deli opening hours to cater to demand and we now have an evening offering.

“We also have on-the-go options as well.”

He added: “The Post Office has stayed the same but we have revamped the whole retail part of the store.

“The shop is 25 years old and it needed a revamp and an upgrade, and we tried to incorporate what local people want.

“Our customers are very important to us.

“We don’t have much passing trade here, it’s mostly local and the shop has always been about hiring local people, supporting local people and being here for local people.

“We have built up a good report with the local community and we have a sense of pride in our area.”

To celebrate the new-look store, the community is invited to a family fun day in Evans Centra this Saturday (July 7) from 12pm to 3pm.

There’ll be face painting, some sports trophies, prizes, free samples of the store’s new food ranges and more.
