Community encouraged to join Living Passion Series

THIS year’s Living Passion by the Tallaght-based Vine Group will be centred on being united together in Christ and will also feature a Camino of the Tallaght Deanery.

The Vine Group is made up of parishioners from the Church of the Incarnation in Fettercairn, St Thomas the Apostle in Jobstown and St Mary’s Priory in Tallaght Village.

They mark every Easter with their Living Passion series of events, which this year features a Camino of the Tallaght Deanery, on Monday, April 3.

Camino Passports will be available at all of the churches taking part, which will be open from 11am to 4pm for pilgrims.

“At each church, there will be people waiting to welcome visitors and stamp their passports,” Joe Geoghegan from the Vine Group told The Echo.

“Each church will have their own unique welcome for visitors. All are encouraged to take part, especially walking clubs, youth groups etc.

“There will be passports available in all participating churches in the weeks leading up to Holy Week.”

This will then be followed by a trip to Glenalough for a Mass in ‘God’s Cottage’, on Tuesday, April 4, with a free bus departing from St Mark’s Church in Springfield following 10.30am Mass.

There will be a healing Mass at 7.30pm in St Martin de Porres’ Church in Aylesbury on Wednesday, April 5.

On Thursday, April 6, there will be a prayer around the cross in the garden in St Mary’s Priory at 9.30pm.

“On Good Friday, April 7, amongst other events, we will be joining with the Syro Malaba Community in St Anne’s school grounds in Fettercairn at 12.30pm for the way of the cross and all are welcome,” added Joe.

“The Living Passion will finish with a dawn mass in Kilnamanagh Park at 6.40am on Easter Sunday.

“We will once again have our witnesses who will speak over the course of the week and this year we are blessed to have Archbishop Dermot Farrell as one of our witnesses and as always Bishop Éamonn Walsh will open and close the Living Passion.”
