
Community sports and civic campus plans are lodged for Citywest Hotel

THE owners of the Citywest Hotel have lodged a planning application seeking permission for the development of a community sports and civic campus on the hotel’s lands.
Cape Wrath Hotel Limited, the owner and operator of the Citywest Hotel, submitted the plans to South Dublin County Council this month.

The proposed development is to consist of a golf facility, including a driving range and associated floodlighting and netting, a mini golf area and bar/restaurant, one floodlit GAA pitch, two rugby pitches, three football pitches, five floodlit tennis courts, and six floodlit all-weather five-a-side pitches.
Provision of a changing room facility, a multi-sports building comprising indoor courts and activity/meeting rooms, playground facilities, two new vehicular accesses onto Garters Lane, solar PV panels, and car/bicycle parking, is included.
A decision on the application is due from the local authority by June 9.
