A FUND to support the family of a Ballyfermot man who passed away this week, has raised over €1,000 in 48 hours.
Kenneth Courage (25), was well known around Ballyfermot, and passed away on Sunday, after battling a long illness.
Members of the community started up a Go Fund Me page on Monday “to help his wonderful parents and family to give Kenneth the best send-off possible.”
A post on social media said they wanted the community get behind the Courage family at this very difficult time both “sympathetically and financially.”
Kenneth’s brother Keith posted a tribute to his brother on Legends of Ballyer RIP, saying “the Legend took his last breath today after a long illness.”
“He battled on as much as he could but couldn’t go any further – rest in peace bro – love you loads,” said Keith.
Over 200 tributes flowed in for Kenneth of the Legends of Ballyer page, many citing him as a “lovely young man.”
A funeral service took place for Kenneth on Wednesday at St Matthews Church.
He is survived by his mother Julie, father Charlie, brother Keith, sister Alison, extended family and friends.
