Couple plead guilty to not sending three children to school
A COUPLE who have not been sending three of their children to school in Tallaght pleaded guilty in Tallaght District Court.
The couple are being prosecuted by Tusla, the Child and Family Agency.
They were assisted by a Polish interpreter.
Along with a solicitor, there were four officials from Tusla in court. The couple, who are in their late 30’s and have an address in Tallaght, are accused of failing to comply with school attendance notices in relation to two of their son’s attendance at a local national school and their daughters attendance at a local secondary school.
The case was before Judge Paula Murphy for hearing.
The couple’s counsel, George Burns BL, said his clients were pleading guilty.
The Solicitor for Tusla told Judge Murphy that they would prefer to monitor the situation for a few weeks and to hear evidence on the next date.
Noting the plea of guilty, Judge Murphy adjourned the case for six weeks for a probation report and to hear the facts.
