Testing is free and people can show up on the day at Clondalkin Covid-19 walk-in centre. You do not need an appointment for a test at this centre.

Tests are limited to one test per person. If you think you need a repeat test or you are worried about any symptoms of COVID-19, talk to your GP.

People are advised not to arrive at the test centre before the opening time.

The HSE has said that Test Centres can be very busy and you may have to wait. If you arrive near closing time and there is a queue, you may not get a test that day.

Dr Fionnuala Cooney, Director of Public Health for HSE Dublin South, Kildare West Wicklow Community Healthcare Organisation (CHO7) said: “Providing walk-in testing for people is a welcome development for people of Clondalkin.

“Testing for COVID-19 is proven to be important in preventing the spread of the infection. A positive test result early in the infection enables a person to self-isolate and this greatly reduces the risk of them passing the infection on to others.

“The walk in test centre should help reduce the numbers of people queueing at test centres and will facilitate people continuing to come forward for a COVID-19 test.”
