Toy box Designs is a Tallaght based business run by craftsman Tony Jones.
Tony started making toy boxes in 2015 from his home in Tallaght.

Having found himself unemployed and tired of the constant rejection felt by long term unemployment, Tony decided to put his talent to work.
“My first toy box I made as a gift for my friend who had recently had a baby, I enjoyed making it and was happy with how it turned out”, Tony said.
Four years on Tony now has a workshop in Tallaght where he makes his toy boxes.
“Every year I try to progress. My skills have come a long way and I learn more about running a business day by day.”
A good indication of success is Christmas sales. “It gets crazy at Christmas time. Every room in my house ends up filled with toy boxes.”
Each year the cut off on orders comes earlier. Everything on Toy Box Designs toy boxes is handmade and crafted to a very high standard, and with safety in mind, they are fitted with soft closing lids. Tony carves and hand paints all the characters on his toy boxes. “It’s peaceful, rewarding work. Sometimes I can find myself a bit stressed juggling all the business needs. But then I just calm down and think to myself. I’m sitting here painting happy elephants and monkeys. What’s there to be stressed about?”
