Criticism over the felling of ‘iconic’ Monterey Cypress tree

RESIDENTS have criticised the felling of trees and in particular, an “iconic” Monterey Cypress tree in Corkagh Park near the council compound.

South Dublin County Council say the tree was suffering with a fungal infection ‘Cypress Canker’ and was “beginning to cause die-back in some of its larger limbs, thus creating a risk to park users.”
