Carr revving up for new start with Rovers

SHAMROCK Rovers manager Stephen Bradley has secured another attacking option with the signing of striker Daniel Carr.

The 24-year-old forward parted ways with the Reading Academy before joining Dulwich Hamlet and later Huddersfield from where he went out on loan to the likes of Fleetwood Town, Mansfield and Dagenham.

He later signed for Cambridge and after another couple of loan spells, returned to Dulwich before joining Leatherhead on loan and scoring eight times in 14 appearances there.

Joining Rovers from Swedish outfit Karlstad BK, Carr is looking forward to his new challenge in the Airtricity League saying “This is a new chapter in my career.

“Now is the time to move on and look to the future, hopefully score goals and do well for Rovers. As a striker, that’s what I’m here to do.

“There’s some very hard working, talented guys here. I’m very impressed. Hopefully I can come in with my attributes and it works well for the team,” he added.

Speaking about his latest addition to the squad, Bradley explained “A friend of mine I used to play with in England rang me and said I recommend you have a look at this kid, I think you’ll like him.

“That’s where it came from. We watched a bit of him online and then got him in with us for most of pre-season. We’ve really liked what he’s brought to the group, both on and off the pitch.

“I think he’s different to what we have in the attacking part of the field. He brings different attributes and sees the game differently to our other attacking players,” he said.
