Davis minor hurlers off to a winning start

THOMAS Davis minor hurlers got off to a winning start last Sunday morning as they overcame Kilmacud Crokes in round 1 of the ‘B’ Championship 4-11 to 3-8 Played on a very wet morning on Kiltipper Road, Thomas Davis got off to a strong start with the impressive Jack O’Connor scoring an early goal along with his second just before the break.

With Fionn Lynch (0-2) and David Fox (0-1) putting in good performances in midfield and Evan Walsh (1-1) and Callum O’Brien dominating the half back line the home side always had the edge.

Evan Walsh scored the goal of the game midway through the second half as he ran the pitch and buried the ball into the top corner.

Sean Benton also chipped in with two points and second half sub and Dublin minor footballer Shane Mullarkey scored a goal late on.

Meanwhile Thomas Davis senior hurlers will take on Kilmacud Crokes in the Senior Two Championship next Saturday where they will need to win by eight points to advance to the quarter finals.
