Davis Minors take Division One title

IT WAS mission accom-plished for Thomas Davis minor footballers who secured the Division One league title at the weekend.

Davis secured the league crown with one match remaining in the competition and they now look forward to the championship as one of the early front runners to close a 25-year gap between winning the Minor A Championship.

The Kiltipper side were also awaiting the result of the Lucan v Na Fianna game to see if it was to be a straightforward league win or a play-off.

However once the news reached that Lucan had beaten the Mobhi Road side that was enough to secure the league for Davis.

Glen Farrelly, who was on the last Minor team to win the Championship and is now the team’s manager, will be turning his attention to the championship.

Thomas Davis face off against Na Fianna, Lucan Sarsfields and Naomh Olaf in what is widely seen as the “group of death” in this year’s championship.
