Decreased live register figures close to national trend

THE NUMBERS signing on the live register in November 2017 were down by 486 from October in the four social welfare offices in the county. This was in keeping with the national trend, reports Brendan Grehan.

Nationally, on a seasonally adjusted basis the Live Register total recorded a monthly decrease of 2,600 (-1.1%) in November 2017, reducing the seasonally adjusted total to 244,300. The number of persons on the Live Register in November 2017 is also the lowest number recorded in the seasonally adjusted series since August 2008.

In unadjusted terms there were 233,209 persons signing on the Live Register in November 2017. This represents an annual decrease of 39,951 (-14.6%).

In Tallaght, the total signing on fell from 6,703 in October to 6,536 in November, a drop of 167.

Among the under 25s there was a drop of 82 with 965 signing on in October and 883 in November.

In Nutgrove, the total signing fell from 2,671 in October to 2,556 in November, a fall of 115. Among the under 25s, there was a decrease of 27 with 147 signing on in October and 120 signing on in November.

In Ballyfermot, the total signing on fell by 35 with 2,142 signing on in October and 2,107 signing on in November.

The figures for the under 25s fell by 31 with 344 signing on in October  and 313 in November.

In Clondalkin, the total signing on fell by 169 from 4,598 signing on in October to 4,429 signing on in November.

Among the under 25s there was a drop of 47 with 576 signing on in October and 529 signing on in November.
