DFB drone footage shows seven units battling huge Dublin mountains gorse fire
Dublin Fire Brigade have released dramatic drone footage from last night’s huge gorse fire in the Dublin Mountains.
Seven units attended the blaze, which was aided by high winds and dry vegetation.

According to DFB: "The fire covered a significant area, and by the nature of gorse, was difficult to access. The fire stretched from roughly Lamb Doyles to the Blue Light pub.
“There a number of houses in that area, but none were damaged. The smoke was carried by the strong winds and smoke was reported on the motorway as well as ash falling in areas south to south-east of the fire.”
A water tanker was also used in the operation, as was a drone to help the firefighters target specific areas as they attempted to contain the fire.
As dusk arrived it brought the rain with it, and thankfully the fire was stopped from spreading.
In a warning to the public, DFB said: “We would like to remind people that the ground is still dry, and it doesn’t take much for a small fire to start and spread rapidly.
“Please no camp fires, or BBQ’s except in designated areas. Report anti-social activity to the Gardai.”
