This week tributes flowed in to honour the memory of two former Firhouse residents, who sadly passed away whilst abroad. Kieran O’Brien and Sean McShea passed away in Cambodia and Spain respectively.

Kieran ‘Greener’ O’Brien (46), a former St Annes GAA member, was killed in a hit and run in the Kandal province, while Sean McShea (34), a former boxer, was killed when the car he was driving crashed at the entrance to the port in Estepona, on the south coast of Spain. Read more HERE

ATTACK: Gardai were this week continuing to investigate the alleged rape of a woman in an estate that allegedly took place at around 1.40am on Thursday morning (September 4) at Monastery Walk in Clondalkin. Read more  HERE

CHARITY: Last week the Echo reported that families in Cherry Orchard who are struggling to pay bills, were receiving food parcels on a daily basis. The service is provided by Help 4 The Homeless, a Ballyfermot group who support vulnerable people in the community. Read more HERE

FIVE STAR FAMILY: It was a time for great celebration in one Jobstown house last week as one family celebrated adding the fifth generation to their clan with the birth of baby Amelia. Read more HERE
