Did you spot lots of low-flying planes over Tallaght and Clondalkin last night?
If you were one of many who spotted lots of low flying aircraft last night over Tallaght and Clondalkin do not fear, it was just a scheduled training exercise in Baldonnel.
A spokesperson for the Defence Forces confirmed to Echo.ie that night-time training is currently taking place at Casement Aerodrome, with a number of planes performing different manoeuvres.
The spokesperson said: “There were a number of planes involved in the training exercise.
“The training has been taking place for about two weeks and will finish at the end of this week.

“Those taking part need be proficient in flying at night for obvious reasons so training like this happens at different times.
“The planes do not fly any later that 11pm due to the base being located near residential areas.”
So, at least it wasn’t aliens in the skies overhead!
