Donoghue delivers in Celtic Games
YOUNG Lucan Harriers athlete Dara Donoghue turned in a strong performance at the recent Celtic Cross-Country Games in Scotland, writes David Humphries.
Representing Ireland for the very first time, the National Under 16 Cross-Country champion completed the 6km course in an impressive time of 21:37 that saw him finish 30th out of 79 runners and the first Irish to cross the line.

This was the first time a Lucan Harriers athlete has represented Ireland at a cross country international since Donoghue’s coach Niamh Fitzgerald did so in World com-petition back in 2003.
Dara has had a very successful season, picking up the Leinster and All-Ireland Championship honours in his age group.
Indeed he was part of the Dublin team that won the county title and finished third in the province.
