Driver with no insurance or licence told ‘he is certainly facing a prison sentence’
A DRIVER with four previous convictions for driving without insurance had his case remanded for a presentence report by Tallaght District Court.
Jordan Muldoon was represented by his solicitor, Padraig O’Donovan.
Judge Patricia McNamara heard that Muldoon has 63 previous convictions.
Muldoon, aged 23, with an address at Kiltalown Path, Tallaght, pleaded guilty to having no insurance and no driving licence at Cloonmore Park in Tallaght on October 5, 2017.
Garda Peter Finnan told Judge McNamara that he stopped Muldoon in a Seat Leon at 10.50pm on the above date in Cloonmore Park.
He said Muldoon had no insurance and no driving licence and added that Muldoon had 16 previous convictions.
Garda Finnan said Muldoon had been sentenced to five months jail for burglary from Blanchardstown District Court on July 24, 2015.
Muldoon had also been sentenced to four months for failing to appear in court, two months for breaching the peace and four months for possession of articles.
Garda Finnan said Muldoon has four previous convictions for driving without insurance.
Mr O’Donovan said his client would be willing to work with the Probation Services and added that Muldoon had not previously been given the opportunity to do so.
Judge McNamara told Mr O’Donovan: “He [Muldoon] is certainly facing a prison sentence”.
She remanded Muldoon on continuing bail to a date in November for a presentence report.
