A NUMBER of anti-social behaviour incidents involving the 13 Dublin Bus route forced them to curtail service in Bawnogue most recently on November 4, reports Hayden Moore.

In the run up to Halloween the service was also halted on October 28, 29, and 30 with a spokesperson from Dublin Bus saying: “We can confirm that there have been anti-social behaviour incidents involving Route 13 over the last number of weeks.”

The Dublin Bus 13  service was halted on October 28, 29, and 30

Although, the spokesperson highlighted a silver lining pointing out a decrease in the number of incidents involving their fleet of 1000 buses across the county.

They said: “While the operation of such a large scale operation is challenging, the level of anti-social behaviour is relatively low and steadily decreasing.

“Incidents of anti-social behaviour involving Dublin Bus are down 16% compared to 2017. This is due, in part, to our commitment to embrace and foster community relations while also implementing physical mechanisms that protect our customers and employees who avail of our services.”

In reference as to how residents and locals reliant on the bus service can help aid Dublin Bus, they said: “We have a strong and close working relationship with An Garda Siochana and have set up a number of community forums in different areas across the city.

“Dublin Bus operates a Schools Education Programme which involves educating young people about the importance of the bus in their lives and in their local community.”
