Dublin Fire Brigade issue cheap phone charger warning after “lucky escape”
Dublin Fire Brigade has warned the public about the importance of using genuine phone chargers rather than non-branded, cheap ones.
A picture of a burned phone charger cable was shared by DFB on Monday evening after being left plugged in overnight.
The user of this spurious charger had a lucky escape. Found the cable in this state after charging a phone over night. Only genuine cables. pic.twitter.com/8xWeyf089e

The wire on the non-branded cable was melted and black.
A message from DFB said: “The user of this spurious charger had a lucky escape. Found the cable in this state after charging a phone overnight.
“Only (use) genuine cables.”
