Echo Young Artist of the Year–it could be you!
By Echo Reporter
The Echo Young Artist of the Year competition is back for 2016 and we are delighted to once again announce that The Retail Park Liffey Valley are also returning as this year’s main sponsor.
The competition was a huge success in 2015 with schools from across south-west Dublin getting involved in the fun.
Emma Kennedy of The Echo said: “Our young readers and primary school students are the next generation of Echo supporters.
“Each year we encourage them to be part of The Echo through their creativity – the Young Artist of the Year competition is a great fun and creative platform for our young local artists to get involved.”
This year’s competition has the theme, ‘Livvie and Lizzy at School’. Livvie the bear is the mascot for The Retail Park Liffey Valley and Lizzy provides The Echo with weekly funny and creative stories of her childhood memories.
Emma added: “I am delighted to have The Retail Park Liffey Valley on board again this year as our main sponsor. The response to the ‘Young Artist of the Year 2015’ was a huge success and together we aim to expand and grow this great competition.”
Entrants are asked to recreate a picture of Livvie and Lizzy at School, for example, doing school work or out in the playground?
“We want to see lots of creativity and colour on this year’s entries which will be exhibited in SDCC library in May and wish all the young artists the very best of luck for 2016,” says Caroline Connaughton, The Retail Park Liffey Valley.
The competition is open from February 5 and will close on Monday, April 20.
