IT HAS been revealed that 26 families – with more than 40 children – are unable to access emergency accommodation in the county.Eoin OBroin2
The families are currently on a growing waiting list for emergency accommodation after being declared at risk of homelessness in recent months.
Sinn Féin councillor Eoin Ó Broin described the figures as “a disgrace” with families and young children forced to “couch surf” to survive.

Cllr Ó Broin said: “There is a crisis in the provision of family emergency accommodation across Dublin. Since last year many families who present as homeless have to wait months before being placed in emergency accommodation.
