Enable Ireland celebrate 25 years supporting families

THIS year, Enable Ireland are celebrating 25 years of providing support and therapy services for children with disabilities in Dublin South West.
Families who have used their services over the years were invited last Thursday to join the staff of Enable Ireland in Tallaght to share their memories in celebration of reaching their quarter century in the area.

The Dublin South West branch of Enable Ireland began delivering services for local children back in 1994, when they opened in Tymon North.
Based out of Scoil Íosa in Tymon North, their team of around 20 members of staff work with children and parents through a programme of courses, individual and group therapy – with the therapy team linking with over 60 different schools and pre-schools to also provide advice and support for staff.
Catering for around 200 children with physical disabilities per year, their experienced team provide a whole host of different services to accommodate the needs of each child.
Their team of professionals have experience in providing occupational therapy, paediatrics, physiotherapy, early education, psychology, social work and speech and language therapy for the children of Tallaght, Clondalkin, Lucan, Palmerstown and Templeogue from birth right up until they turn 18.
The anniversary falls during Enable Ireland’s ‘Life With No Limits’ campaign, which aims to provide a platform for children and adults with disabilities using Enable Ireland services to speak about how they live life with no limits.
Speaking about the launch of the campaign, CEO of Enable Ireland John O’Sullivan said: “It is a really positive campaign and we want the public to get on board and have fun with it.
“More than ever we need the help of the public to raise funds to support our services for children and adults with disabilities.”
Funds are being raised through the sale of ‘Life With No Limits’ merchandise or through donating on the Enable Ireland website.
Families who have used the services at any point over the past 25 years in Enable Ireland Dublin South West in Tymon North were invited to attended an event earlier this week.
