The competition aims to promote enterprise by bringing business and community groups together, in each town, to showcase the spirit of enterprise in their local area.

The competition is held in collaboration with local authorities. Every city has urban areas and villages that operate as a town in their own right and have distinct identities and local businesses and residential communities. The theme this year was diversity and inclusion.

Bank of Ireland, South Dublin County Council, LEO, South Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Synergy IT Tallaght and Tallaght Community Council were all involved in Tallaght’s entry this year.

Judges visited Clondalkin in the morning and had lunch in The Peachtree Restaurant at Tallaght Cross.

Then it was on to Partas in Tallaght Village for a presentation on all that is good about Tallaght, the judges visited the Priory Brewery and then made their way along the main corridor in Partas where the local Artisan food providers had stands with samples of the produce.

The judge’s next stop was Synergy where they met Social Enterprises and staff, then a visit to Henkel where Susan Craig Henkel’s S.H.E. manager made a presentation followed by Peter Byrne CEO of South Dublin Chamber of Commerce, the visit finished at Tallaght Stadium where the judges met members of Citywise and their tutors, our local hero; Rhasidat Adeleke who won a gold medal in the European Athletes Competition in July and ladies from the Webnet Group which is held in Partas in Bolbrook Enterprise Centre.
