
Final verdict in Ibrahim Halawa case due next Monday
The final verdict in the trial of Firhouse native Ibrahim Halawa is expected next Monday, according to the latest reports.
Mr Halawa, along with almost 500 others, was arrested in 2013 during a public political protests against the military overthrow of Mohammed Morsi – Egypt’s first democratically elected president.

The trial of Mr Halawa and 493 others has been adjourned more than 30 times so far.
Ibrahim’s defence team were finally able to begin making their case earlier this month.
A protest, led by Amnesty International, to mark fours years since Ibrahim was jailed took place last Friday outside the Egyptian Embassy on Clyde Road in Dublin 4.
