Fire at industrial building on Kylemore Road

A FIRE at an industrial building on Kylemore Road in Ballyfermot caused traffic restrictions for early morning commuters.

Gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene of the unoccupied building just after mid-night at Darthmouth House and remained at the scene during the night.

Four fire appliances, a turntable ladder acting as a water tower and a water tanker fought the fire throughout the night. Two appliances were still at the scene this morning.

Dublin Fire Brigade has advised residents living close to the area to close all windows to prevent smoke affecting them.

Traffic restrictions were in place at the junction of Kylemore Park North as emergency services dealt with the incident and Gardai have the are preserved for technical examination.

A garda statement issued this morning said: “Gardaí were called to the scene of a fire at an unoccupied building on the Kylemore Road in Dublin overnight.

“The fire was extinguished by local fire services. No injuries were reported.

“The scene is currently preserved for technical examination. Garda investigations are ongoing.”
