Firefighters raise €4,758 for LauraLynn children’s hospice

After organising a charity cycle from Tallaght to Kilkenny back in September, as well as bucket collections in The Square and Dundrum Town Centre, firefighters from Tallaght Fire Station raised €4,758.42 in aid of LauraLynn, a service which provides hospice services for children in Ireland, reports Eoghan Gardiner.

A cheque was presented to Liz O'Riordan of LauraLynn in Tallaght Fire Station on Halloween, one of the busiest days of the year for Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB).

The cycle, which takes place annually to fund various charities, was organised by Joe Mulligan of DFB D Watch.

“LauraLynn does amazing work for children with life-limiting conditions and we’re very happy and proud to have supported their work this year,” said Joe Mulligan. “They’re the only organisation of their kind in the country, and they receive their funding mostly through the HSE.

“However, donations are just as important as they’ve ever been to LauraLynn, and I’d urge anybody who can to donate to them,” he concluded.
