Fitzpatrick is honoured by Barbarians call-up
PAULA Fitzpatrick is one of three Irish competitors who have selected for the Barbarians squad that will face off against USA Eagles at the Infinity Stadium in Colorado on April 26.
The Tallaght woman joins compatriots Gill Bourke and Alison Miller on the panel which will be led by Head Coach Anna Richards, who has been no stranger to World Cup glory with New Zealand.

“It’s a huge honour to be asked to play for the Barbarians” Fitzpatrick told The Echo.
“It’s great to get to play with such a talented squad and such an array of players. There’s a few Kiwis, Americans, English, Canadians and others included in the panel” she added.
The squad will not have much time to train together ahead of the match, but Fitzpatrick insists that’s all part of the challenge.
“We won’t get much time to train together, but that’s part of the ethos of the Barbarians- that such a diverse collection of players come together to compete.
“Anna Richards is the head coach. She’s a multi-World Cup winning player and she’ll have a couple of days to hopefully put her stamp on the team” she added.
