
Fourth stand at Tallaght Stadium may be an option

ARCHITECTS are currently examining options for a fourth stand at the northern end of Tallaght Stadium, The Echo has learned.
According to Fianna Fáil councillor Charlie O’Connor, who is Chair of the Tallaght Area Committee, South Dublin County Council has confirmed that the new, third stand will be completed by October.

However, he added that council management have confirmed that architects are currently examining options for a fourth stand at the northern end of the stadium, with a report being brought to the council meeting in October.
Cllr O’Connor said he has stressed to council management in light of the plans, the need for a feasibility study in respect of future usage of the municipal stadium.
“I support the completion of the stadium, and I think that we should have a complete stadium,” Cllr O’Connor said.
“Building the third stand is a significant move and I think finishing off the stadium with a fourth stand is a positive move.
“However, the challenge then will be how to fill the stadium on a regular basis, and examining how those events will impact on the community.”
