Funding welcomed for youth groups across areas including Lucan, Clondalkin and Rathcoole
Local TD and Tánaiste, Frances Fitzgerald has welcomed the announcement of funding towards community youth groups across Lucan, Clondalkin, Newcastle, Saggart, Rathcoole, Palmerstown and Brittas.
The funding which is being allocated by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs is being made available to allow clubs buy valuable equipment which will support their work with young people.
Tánaiste Fitzgerald told The Echo : “This equipment fund is being launched in recognition of the significant development work undertaken by these local youth groups in 2017.
Each group should consult with its young members to ascertain their opinions on what equipment might be needed and how it will directly benefit them”.
Locally, the fund of nearly €400,000 is being advertised and administered by Dublin and Dun Laoghaire ETB.
