Gardai appeal for witnesses in relation to tragic death of female cyclist

GARDAI are this morning continuing to appeal for witnesses in relation to the tragic death of a female cyclist, who was hit by a lorry at the roundabout between Templeville Road and Whitehall Road yesterday.

The fatal road traffic collision, which happened shortly before 2.30pm, involved a cyclist in her late thirties suffering serious injuries after being struck by a lorry.

The cyclist was taken to Tallaght Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

No other injuries were reported.

Templeville Road was closed for a number of hours yesterday as Garda forensic teams worked at the scene. The road has now been reopened.

Garda are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those who were in the vicinity of Templeville  Road, Whitehall Road and Wellington Road between 2pm and 2.40pm yesterday, March 27, to contact Terenure Garda Station on 6666400, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
