
Gardai arrest man in relation to petrol station robbery

GARDAI have arrested one man, aged in his late 20s, in relation to a robbery of a petrol station in Clondalkin, on Tuesday afternoon, May 5.
At approximately 4pm, the man entered the shop armed with a screwdriver. He threatened staff and demanded the contents of the till. He left the scene with a sum of money in a car. No persons were injured.

Gardai searched the area after obtaining a description of the man and he was arrested a short distance away. The vehicle was seized, which was a stolen car and the cash and weapon from the robbery recovered.
The man was taken to Clondalkin Garda Station where he is currently detained under the Criminal Justice Act. He remains in custody and investigations are ongoing.
